Segway Navimow i208 LiDAR vs Segway Navimow i208 AWD

A straight comparison of what the manufacturers publish. Where a figure is missing for one model, the row says so rather than filling the gap.

What each one is best at

There is no overall winner here — which mower is “best” depends on your garden. These are the categories where one model is measurably ahead on a published figure.

Widest cut

Segway Navimow i208 LiDAR

Cuts 220 mm per pass, so it covers ground faster.

Best value per square metre

Segway Navimow i208 AWD

Lowest cost per square metre of rated working area, based on the prices we currently track.

Best for tree-heavy gardens

Segway Navimow i208 LiDAR

The only model here whose published navigation includes a non-satellite positioning method. Check its manual for canopy and obstacle limits.

Where they differ

  • Cutting width ranges from 180 mm to 220 mm, which affects how long each mow takes.

What they have in common

  • Both connect over Wi-Fi.
  • Both support multiple mowing zones.
  • Neither needs a buried boundary wire.

Which one should you buy?

Two ways to mow the same 800 m². The i208 LiDAR navigates with LiDAR and vision, cuts 220 mm wide, and adjusts its cutting height automatically. The i208 AWD swaps LiDAR for Network RTK positioning, drives all three wheels, cuts narrower at 180 mm, and its 20–60 mm cutting height is set by hand rather than from the app.

Take the i208 LiDAR for gardens with heavy tree cover or close walls. LiDAR does not depend on any signal reaching the garden, and the wider cut finishes the same lawn in fewer passes — Segway quotes 9 hours for the full 800 m² against 12.8 for the AWD.

Take the i208 AWD for open gardens with rough or sloped ground. All-wheel drive and 4 cm obstacle clearance (against 3 cm) are its published advantages, and it holds the same 45% slope rating. Note that Network RTK needs mobile coverage at the garden.

What the numbers do not tell you

Both carry the same rated area, the same 45% slope limit, the same IP66 rating and the same 3-year warranty, so the choice is genuinely about terrain and trees rather than one being the better mower.

Neither model has been physically tested by Garden Robot Atlas. Everything above comes from the manufacturer's published specifications, linked as sources on each mower's page.
