Segway Navimow i208 LiDAR vs Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR

A straight comparison of what the manufacturers publish. Where a figure is missing for one model, the row says so rather than filling the gap.

What each one is best at

There is no overall winner here — which mower is “best” depends on your garden. These are the categories where one model is measurably ahead on a published figure.

Best for large lawns

Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR

Rated for the largest working area at 1,500 m².

Best value per square metre

Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR

Lowest cost per square metre of rated working area, based on the prices we currently track.

Best for smaller lawns

Segway Navimow i208 LiDAR

Smallest rated working area of the two — the least mower you need for a compact garden, with the least capacity going unused.

Where they differ

  • Working area ranges from 800 m² to 1,500 m² — the single biggest practical difference between them.

What they have in common

  • Both connect over Wi-Fi.
  • Both support multiple mowing zones.
  • Neither needs a buried boundary wire.

Which one should you buy?

These two differ in one thing that matters and one thing that follows from it: rated working area, and the battery that supports it. Cutting width, navigation system and the 45% slope rating are identical.

Take the i208 only if your lawn is comfortably under 800 m². That is its published rating and the whole reason to prefer it — it is the entry point of the i2 LiDAR range. On a lawn near the top of that figure you have no slack, and a wet spring is exactly when you need some.

Take the i215 for anything from roughly 800 m² upwards. Segway rates it for 1,500 m² and quotes 160 minutes of running per charge against the i208's 110, so it covers more ground per cycle as well as more ground in total.

Before settling on either, look at the i220 as well: it is rated for 2,000 m² and runs 210 minutes per charge. Whether the extra capacity is worth its price depends on what all three cost on the day — the current figures are on each mower's page.

What the numbers do not tell you

The 45% incline both models quote applies inside the working area. Segway publishes a separate 25% limit at the boundary, so if your slope runs right to a fence or a drop, that lower figure is the one that governs — for both models equally.

Charging time is close: 1 h 50 min for the i208, 2 h 10 min for the i215. Because the i215 works longer between charges, it still returns to the base station less often on the same lawn.

Neither model has been physically tested by Garden Robot Atlas. Everything above comes from the manufacturer's published specifications, linked as sources on each mower's page.
